While blockboard is generally less dense than plywood, it provides solid medium-strength properties, making it an excellent choice for a wide variety of applications. It’s easier to transport and handle, thanks to its lightweight nature, and provides a more cost-effective solution compared to plywood, without compromising on strength.
Our waterproof blockboards are rated IS:1659 Grade, offering excellent water resistance. By bonding the strips with BWP grade resin, we enhance its ability to withstand moisture exposure without warping or cracking. These blockboards are ideal for crafting long furniture pieces (over 6 or 7 feet in length) and are highly resistant to sagging or folding. Unlike particleboard and MDF, they also offer superior screw-holding capacity, making them perfect for customized furniture designs.
Blockboards are not only practical but also offer benefits such as sound and thermal insulation, as they are poor conductors of sound, heat, and electricity. They are commonly used for making long bookshelves, tables, benches, beds, settees, wall panels, and even interior and exterior doors due to their versatility and durability.
